Poti uses anonymous authentication. You can permanently delete your account and associated data directly in the app.
Request deletion without reinstalling Poti
You can request account and associated data deletion by email without reinstalling the app. Send an account deletion request to poti.plantcare@gmail.com.
Include any account identifier or linked-account email you already know, if available. We must verify ownership before deleting data; a nickname or UUID alone is not proof. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or access/refresh tokens. Anonymous accounts have no recovery login: if you lost the session, we may be unable to securely identify the account. We will explain the available verification steps by email.
Remote requests cannot erase files on your device. Clear Poti’s app data in Android settings when appropriate. In-app deletion also attempts to clear local sessions, settings, notifications and widgets. If you own a group, ownership must be transferred or the group deleted without unexpectedly deleting other members’ records.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open Poti.
- Go to Settings.
- Select “Delete Account and All Data”.
- Tap “Delete”.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
If you own a shared-care group, transfer ownership to another member or delete the group before deleting your account.
Data deleted with your account
When your account is deleted, the following data directly associated with your account is permanently deleted:
- your authentication account
- your profile and nickname
- personal registered plants and custom plant information
- personal location tags
- watering history and care records for your personal plants
- your shared-care group memberships
- other user-generated data directly linked to your account
- Poti settings and cached data stored locally on your device when using in-app deletion
- sharing-terms acceptance and block relationships
Shared group plants, group locations and shared care history may remain for other group members. References to the deleted user in retained shared records are removed. The deleted account and deleted data cannot be restored.

Data retention
Reports may remain for safety review with deleted-account user identifiers removed. Resolved reports are deleted within 90 days under the operational policy, except information subject to legal retention requirements.
Poti does not intentionally retain account-linked user data after account deletion, except where retention is required by applicable law or necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Security logs, backups or operational records maintained by service providers may remain for a limited period under their applicable retention policies.
